Dr. Daniel Cabezas initiated his distinguished neurosurgical journey at the esteemed Catholic University of Rome, delving into various facets of the field, encompassing neurotrauma, cranial base surgery, vascular neurosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and functional and spinal neurosurgery. His unwavering passion for Spinal and Functional Neurosurgery has been the cornerstone of his career, becoming his primary focus since 2003.

In his current role as a Senior Independent Consultant Neurosurgeon & Spine Surgeon, Dr. Cabezas channels his wealth of expertise into both private and public healthcare institutions in Italy. His surgical proficiency is meticulously honed in Neurosurgery and Minimally Invasive Spine surgery, employing percutaneous and least invasive techniques. While upholding traditional Neurosurgery, he consistently emphasizes minimal access and tissue damage reduction to achieve optimal outcomes.

Over the years, Dr. Cabezas has overseen nearly six hundred neurosurgical procedures annually as the primary operator from 2003 to 2010, sustaining impactful work with around 300 operations per year from 2011 onwards. Transitioning to the role of Private Senior Consultant in 2013, he maintained an impressive track record with a complication rate of 1.2% and a reintervention rate of 2.4% in 2014, perpetuating these rates in subsequent years without major complications or complaints.

Dedicating almost a decade to teaching Neurosurgery for the Nursing Academic degree at Tor Vergata University in Rome, Dr. Cabezas pursued an executive master's in pharmaceutics and healthcare administration at Luiss University. His current surgical statistics proudly showcase over 15,000 operations performed. Over the last ten years, he has served as the director of several private departments in Rome and Siena, overseeing Neurosurgery and Spinal Surgery services.

Affiliated with distinguished organizations such as Società Italiana di Neurochirurgia (SINch), The European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS), The Spine Society of Europe (EuroSpine), and elected memberships in North American Spine Society (NASS) and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (IFAANS), Dr. Cabezas is also associated with Società dei Neurologi, Neurochirurghi e Neuroradiologi Ospedalieri (SNO), Società Italiana Chirurgia Vertebrale (GIS). He proudly holds board certification at the Albo dei Medici di Roma, position N° M50881.

Current position :

Senior Independent Consultant Neurosurgeon in Spine Surgery for traditional and minimally invasive procedures in private and public infrastructures.

OTHER INTERESTS,

During his free-time Dr. Cabezas is a full-time dad devolved entirely to his family and there is no chance to move him from that.   Other skills and interests are all familiar where traveling is the first and photography or sportive shooting and are growing in interest.
